About the Rio Terrace Community Pre-school

Welcome to the Rio Terrace Community Pre-school for 3 and 4 year olds! Our pre-school is a parent co-operative program, which has been in operation since 1968. The program is part of the Rio Terrace, Patricia Heights and Quesnell Community League. We aim to provide a stimulating, supportive and positive environment to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of your child. Each pre-school session includes a welcome story and circle time, a free-flow supervised playtime, crafts, snack and large-muscle group games. The arrangement of equipment in the playroom during the free play and the planned craft time allows each child to be challenged to the extent to which he/she is ready. Group circle time is an important exchange session where children gather for group discussion, stories, show and tell and songs.

Our programs depend on the participation of all of the parents. Parents help in the classroom and run the organization. Please do not enrol your child unless you are able and willing to make this effort.
